When they come up over the clay the second time they are sprayed with "bluestone" which is wet.
They get this treatment to keep the blight away.
In the end of Autumn the potatoes are dug. They are dug with a spade in this district. Children pick the potatoes in this district. When they are picked they are stored on a loft during the winter. Potatoes are called "spuds" and "praties." Small potaotes are called "pawreens."- Bailitheoir
