- The following story was told by Patrick Cusace age 52 Corcar, Kilmainhamwood, Co. Meath to his daughter Eileen. There is a fort in my brothers land at Shancor, Kilmainhamwood where it was said a crock of gold was hidden. So strong was it believed about 80 years ago that a man named George Fitzsimmons levelled it in search of the treasure. He worked for a very long time but he had no one to help him only his daughter. He had it completed all but two bushes. As he was very tired after his hard days work he said he would leave it off until the following morning.
As he awoke the next morning his daughter was in-sane. The man lived for some years afterwards but he never looked for the treasure again. The two bushes stand there to the present day and under these bushes the gold is hidden.- Collector
