    My mother used to play this game when she was a little girl. Twelve children held hands and stood in a ring, and one stood in the middle. The one in the middle said one word of this rhyme on each child.
    A penny for a cotton ball, A half-penny for a needle. That is the way my money goes. And pop goes the [the] weasel. The girl that the last word was one, would have to take the other child's place, and go in the middle. Then she repeated the same rhyme and so on till the end.
