  1. People go to Killfanin Holy Well every year. They gather round on the first Sunday of August. There are four little crosses round the well, and each person kneels down at each cross, and says some prayers. Some people throw a pin, or a needle, or a medal, or a threepenny-bit, or a sixpenny-bit, into the well. When-ever the men go to clean it out, the pins or the rest of the things, that the people threw into the well cannot be found. It is in the parish of Killmainham, and it is on the border of the townlands of Corcar and Shancor. Smith of Shancor owns the well.
