  2. When St. Patrick landed at Mornington he went about the village. He had nothing to eat since the morning and he saw a lot of men fishing in a stream beside the village. The stream is a tributary of the River Boyne. He went over to the men and asked for a salmon but he refused him. He asked them again for a smaller one but they told him to go away. Before going away St. Patrick put a curse on the stream and said it would be a long time again that they would catch a salmon in it. From that time onward there
