    When the Election day it did come off.
    to Stornonstown we flew.
    The motor cars were flying
    it was thunder cleared the way.
    And thats the night we set alight
    To Larry's cock of hay.

    Poor Larry was the 'Juker' as you
    could plainly see.
    He would not vote the other way,
    To set old Ireland free.
    We tried but to convert him
    but it was all in vain.
    And thats the night we set
    Alight to Larrys cock of hay.
    III
    The night the hay was lit
    O boys we had great fun,
    To hear poor Larry shouting but still he couldn't run.
    His daughter Maggie she ran out to catch them but she failed.
    And if she had to know them she'd have every man in Jail.
    Next morning early to Ardee town they flew
    To set it on the county.
