- There are three fairy forts around Louth village. There is a large one in a field belonging to Patrick Courtney of Carnalogue. There are three fairy bushes growing on it. They are large crooked bushes. Long ago there were three little ladies, all dressed in white seen there, one standing under each bush. Lovely lights were seen shining over them. Beautiful music was heard also. There is a path that leads into the fort and then there is another path that leads under the ground to a fort over at Castlering. There was an old castle at castlering long ago. A man called Owen Hemlem lived(continues on next page)
