  1. Long ago the children used to make toys. The boys used to make jimcrows. They got two sticks and made holes in them and put a cord into the holes. Then they made a man from wood. They put the man between the sticks and when they pulled the cord the man started to dance.
    The girls made rag dolls. They made a dress and stuffed it with wadding. They made a head and stuffed it and cut out the eyes, the mouth and the nose on it.
