    At another time there was another great meeting held in Miltown at which an M.P. named McCarthy spoke.
    When he came on the platform he said "Men of West Clare, do ye know me, do ye know me?" and a man in the crowd named Michael McGuire shouted "We do well Puss Dubh". Then the police men removed McGuire for interrupting the meeting.
    In later years there was a big days excitement in Miltown when Jennet's Circus visited the town.
    As the procession was passing through the street the men in the band Stand hoisted the Union Jack.
