    There was a song entitled "The Lost Beagle" composed by Maud OBrien who was P.T. in the Girls Schools Miltown Malbay about eighty years ago.

    To the fleetest of our pack
    The finest of our Beagles
    Took a notion in his head
    And ran away this morning
    Whilst his honour was in bed

    Oh! did he take the Ennis Road
    Or ! did he take Ballard
    When he foolishly absconded
    From his comfortable yard
