    The Ballard road is the oldest road in Miltown. Long ago there at the back of the town there is a new road called the new line.
    Long ago the pay the men used to get was eight pence and the women used to be glad (used to be) to get work on the roads because their children were starving.
    They used to put a plank across the rivers long ago as there was no bridges.
    Long ago there was a Franciscan monastery in [?].
