    We followed two wren all day all day
    Through bushes and briars and yellow clay.
    We knocked her down and she could not see.
    So we hung her on this holly tree.
    Holly and Ivy we set holly and Ivy we set up so early in the morning.
    Up with the kettle and down with the pan and give us some money to bury the wren.
    St Brigids Day is the first day of Spring. It is a great feast by the Irish people.
    St Patricks Day falls on the 17th March. All the Irish people wear shamrocks to honour St Patrick
    Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. People get married on that day because it is the first day of Lent.
    May Day is the first day of May. People put green rushes on the door step to welcome the Summer. All badminded people go around the night practicing pishoges. They take the best part of everything for themselves.
    St John's eve falls on the 23rd of June. People light big bonfires and they carry the last burning part of it around the boundary of their lands for luck.
    Halloween falls on the first night of November. All kinds of customs are carried on that night.
