    Glenkeen is a hollow between two hills near Borrisoleigh and there is a very big grave-yard there. It got its name from the keening of the people after their dead in this glen.
    Summerhill got its name from the cross where the sun is said to shine at all times of the day.
    There is a field in Summerhill called Shea's meadow because it was formerly owned by a man called O Shea.
