  1. In a cave near Barnane Castle was found a Kings crow. It was found by the late Captain Barden. Having heard that such treasure was buried on his lands he decided to make a search which was successful. When found it was in an iron case.
Legend has it that it was put there by Cromwell whose name was on a tag tied to the crown. It was said to be worth three hundred pounds. It was concealed in a small corner in the cave. It appears as if space was being left for other treasures which never found its way there. It was taken to Dublin
