  1. About sixty years ago a ball of fire used to appear in the dusk of the evening. It used to hover around Aughvolyshane near the ground. It was hard to get near it. It was shy of people.
    Everyone used to see it night after night and it never did any one any harm. After some years it stopped appearing. The theory was that it was a soul passing its Purgatory.
