  1. Some years before the famine the people were digging the potatoes. It was very fine and the work was finished early in the year. Back in Toomevara the Big Shout started. It was taken up from garden to garden from hill to hill until it spread from coast to coast all over the land. It lasted a full day and it is said it was the last of the good years.
