   Pop guns were and are still very popular among the boys of this locality. This is how a pop gun is made A piece of an elder bush is got and the pith is brought out of it with a knife and a gimlet. Then another piece of elder is got. This is called the stock. A piece of paper is put into the hole. Then wind is put in after the paper and while the wind is within another piece of paper is put in. Then the stock is pushed and off goes the shot.
