  1. The people around this locality
have many signs and ideas about the
weather. If clouds seem to to rush
together in the sky it denotes rain.
If there is a circle around the moon it also
    denotes rain.
    "A rainbow in the morning.
    Is the traveller's warning.
    A rainbow at night.
    Is the shepherd's delight"
If the stars glitter very brightly in the
sky it is the sign of frost and when they
do not appear at all it denotes rain.
If the wind blows from the
north it denotes fine weather. The south-
west wind brings most rain to our
district. If the sky is red in the morning
it foretells a coming storm. If the south-
west wind blows it denotes rain.
Swallows flying low denotes rain. If
cattle lie down it is also a sign of
rain. If a cat turns his back to
the fire it denotes rain. If a dog comes
in it is also the sign of rain. A
clear blue sky denotes fine weather.
