    About 80 years ago yards from Lemonfield House lies the pier of a gate in the fence dividing the kitchen from the adjacent field.
    It is said that every year at November a black dog is seen sitting on the pier and that he follows anyone who passes.
    There is a gape in the wall a short distance away and it is said that a woman dressed in white garments was sitting there
