  1. One morning I remember as the day began to dawn
The rosy flush of sunrise covered valley, wood and lawn
The bouncing Biddy Houlihan went sauntering to the well
That lay beneath a thorn bush a stone throw down the dell
Her head was full of merriment she looked a fine cailin
As she sang a Shandon Ballad that she learned at the green
A tip tap tip disturbed her, she stopped to hear the sound
And blessed her self for fear she's see a magpie flying around
With that she heard a crooning song just like the Crusceen Lawn
And looking underneath the bush she spied a leipreachan
A dapper little cobbler not more that two feet tall
He wore a scarlet nightcap that fitted like a ball
A leathern apron around his waist and a leather breeches too
A pair of dainty little brogues and stockings that were blue
Across his lap he had a shoe that on a lapstone lay
With this he whacked with all his might which isnt much to say
