    Cattle. A mares clearing is hung up in the cowhouse to bring luck. In our cowhouse at home a mares clearing has been hanging there for the last fifteen years. When a cow calves the hair of her dug is burned off with a blessed candle. Long ago the people boiled the third biestings [?] were boiled and used by the people.
