- There are a lot of houses in my district, about fifty houses in Ballagh. The most of them are thatched, about twenty slate houses, and about four Iron houses. Cill Ide got its name from a saint that lived their long ago. Ita was her name and it was called Cill Ide which means the Church of Ita. There are only a few old people in the townland. The oldest is a woman of ninety six years named Mrs Mullane, Kantoher. My home is situated in the townland of Glenquinn in the County of Limerick. How it got its name was from Gleann a Caim the glen of the Cúmor hollow. It is said that a woman drew all the stones in her apron to the man that's making it.
