  1. In the district of Shanagolden there are many old roads to be seen.
There is a new road leading from Foynes to Newcastle and it is the best road in this locality.
There is a very old road near the school and it is called the Kerry Hill because it was the only road leadingg to Kerry long ago.
There is another old road also near the school leading into Foynes and before the new road was made it was the only road going to Foynes.
The oldest road in this district is the bog Road and it is about three miles west of Shanagolden. Nearly all the old roads around here are crooked.
