  1. The Leprechaun And Mermaid.
    The leprechaun is known in this locality as Luhragan. Nobody whom I know ever saw one, but several remember old people who claim to have seen them.
    According to the accounts that have come down from those old people, the Luhragan is supposed to be two feet in height and is dressed in a black pants, red coat and a tall peaked cap. he wears shows with turned up toes. It is said that he generally lives in a fort and his occupation is shoemaking - He is continually making shoes for the fairies. He is supposed to work in the open underneath a bush, and keeps a crock of gold hidden somewhere nearby.
    It is said locally that a man in Loghill caught a Luhragan a long time ago, and held him in his hand until he had to give up the crock of gold. The man had to keep his eyes fixed on him while he had
