    4. A butterfly or robin entering a house (the former is regarded as being an angel and the latter is looked upon as being a blessed creature).
    5. To find a horse-shoe on the ground as it is placed on the horse's hoof (if the shoe is turned upside down, it is the opposite sign).
    6. A person dying on Friday is regarded as being a good omen that his (or her) soul is saved. Death during any of the twelve days of Christmas is regarded as a similar omen.
    7. Westerly wind on new year's day morning, is supposed to be a sign of a bountiful, but wet year, especially for Ireland.
    8. A late budding of trees and plants in spring, is also said to be a sign of a bountiful year.
    9. Rain on a day of a funeral is supposed to be an omen that the dead person's soul is saved; while sunshine on a wedding day forecast good luck for the married couple.
