The Cooney brothers Mick and Billy were nailers in Carrigaline.

The Cooney brothers Mick and Billy were nailers in Carrigaline.
Their father and grandfather carried on the same business in the same shop.
They made iron nails and did great business having to supply the requirements of the neighbouring districts. The machine made wire nail then came into favour and the iron nail trade began to decline.
They finished with the iron nail making in 1903.
