There is a case in Shanbally outside Ringaskiddy called the Penal Cave.

There is a cave in Shanbally outside Ringaskiddy called the "Penal Cave". It extends from Shanbally to Carrigaline Castle a distance of 3 miles. There is a large stone at the entrance and stone steps can be seen descending into the cave. This cave was made in the Penal days for the purpose of the celebration of Holy Mass secretly. It is dangerous for anyone to enter the cave nowadays as the stones have fallen in many places and the air is foul.
