  1. Most of our local marriages take place during Shrovetide, June and September. Very few people marry during the months of May and August as these months are considered unlucky for marriage.
    Some people still adhere to the old tradition of wearing:- Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
    Other customs are - showering confetti and rice on the bridal party as they leave the church, decking the bridal car with ribbons and very often old boots and cocoa canisters are tied on to the car for luck.
