- Jeremiah Lyne of Annaghbeg lived near a bridge which got choked with bog and bog-deal. The bog turned towards the and his family got out by means of a plank from a hole in the roof onto the road. They ran for their lives and came back after three weeks and a second blast came. The did likewise and returned after a week.

There was a snowstorm in the year 1893. It lasted for one night. No lives were lost
A snow-storm in the year 1903 felled houses and trees. It also blocked the road in several places.
