  1. In former times marriages were carried out in a different style to what they are now. The invited guests came in side- cars and the men on saddle horses to the church and the bride came in a covered cart drawn by two horses
    The farmers houses "punch" was made in a large boiler and served to the guests in juggs
    The wedding lasted all day and all night and were visited during the night by numbers of men called "straw boys" who took part in the festivities
