    The name of the towland I am living in is Kiskeam (Coiscéim na Caillighe). This was so called because an old woman is supposed to have stepped from one of the big rocks behind the village to the other rock. The story is that the old hag was a great snuffer and running out of snuff she came in a great hurry to the village for the snuff. There was no bridge and the river being heavy she stepped across from one rock to the other, hence the name Kiskeam or Coiscéim na Caillighe which means the old hag's footstep.
