    The name of my Home district is Kanturk (Ceann Tuirc) in the barony of Duhallow and County of Cork. The population is near 2000. The family names most common in this district is Murphy OBrien and OSullivan. The houses in this town are mostly two storey slated.
    The townland got its name from a Wild Boar Hunt. The Boar was killed in Kanturk which means "Boars Head". The hunt took place from a
