  1. Bread was made for wheat in olden times the flour was made in Kanturk.
    Potato-cake, which was also named 'stampy' bread, and oat-meal bread, wheaten bread and yellow-meal bread were the breads made in former times. Potato-cake was made with potatoes and flour, wheaten bread was made from gruond wheat, and yellow meal bread was made from meal and flour mixed.
    Bread was mixed with water in former times.
