But records of Limerick, still tell of its pride,
Of its siege by that old garden wall.
Of the breach and the battle and the heroes who died,
And its women, the bravest of all.
    V
How they fought in defence of that dear native town,
What glory they won in that frae,
The women of Limerick, they died to pull down,
    The emblem of tyranny sway.
    VI
But the scene, it is changed and that glorious stand
For liberties crown was in vain.
And Sarsfield has died, in a far foreign land,
By the hand of a foreigner slain.
    VII
The green field of battle, with his life blood grew red,
As freely it flowed, from his heart.
Oh! that this were for Ireland, were the last words he said
Ere, sinking for ever to rest.
    VIII
And braver the men of that heroic band,
Who sailed to the land o'er the Main.
Those Wild Geese of Erie, made history grand,
In the armies of France and of Spain.
    IX
In the van of the battle, those brave men and bold
And none ever knew them afraid.
