- (continued from previous page)Long woollen stockings made at home of wool and coming up inside the breeches. They wore brogues - boots made of strong leather. Made by the local shoemaker. They used goose-grease to oil them instead of polish. A high, hard black hat No collar and tie. The week days the men wore a baenín - Made at home of flannel. It had no collar. They wore the baenín instead of an outside coat.
- Forty years ago the old people wore clogs. There was no left or right to them. They were made of strong leather and timber soles. They were very warm, but hard to walk with them.
