  1. Poem (continued)

I am a young fellow that ran out of my land and means...

    (continued from previous page)
    9
The court was in silence and the jury then were charged
Is d'fiafruigheadar dinn a' raibh aon nidh againn le rádh,
She showed them the will that her father bequeathed of late
Is gur fhág sé ag an ainnir an fheirm go léir gan roinnt.
    10
The barrister read the last will that her father made,
Is d'fiafruig de'n ainnir a bpósfadh sí an réic gan céim,
She said that I was a most loving genteel young swain
Is na pósfadh sí mo mhalairt go sínfidhe í síos fé'n gcré
    11
When we were acquitted my true love I did embrace
Is chuadhmar go dti an sagart chun me ceangailt le grádh mo chléibh
He put on the knot and 'twas easy he got his change
Agus mairfeam go sásta idir Carraig na Siúre is Fíodhard.
