  1. In the townland of Oldcastle there is situated a Lios or a fort. In this fort it is said the faries had hid a crock of gold.
    The gold is supposed to be guarded by a huge black bull.
    The gold is said to be black when seen with the light of day. It should be got at night.
    One night some men said they would get the gold. The men carried a Blessed Candl and a bottle of holy water. They startied digging. Very soon the bull came up the field and he roaring. They threw the Holy water at the bull but it did no good. The men went home next night. The men came and lit the Blessed Candle and began digging. The bull came roaring at them but he never
