The ship immediately sank and was never seen again. Some of the cargo which she had on board was washed into the neighbouring strands. Large quantities of flour and meal and many other articles were found, and to this day, the cave near which the ship was wrecked is called "Cúas Na Normánaig", and it also said that the ghosts of the Norman sailors who were drowned still haunt the cliffs and caves along the shore of Ballydonegan Bay.
