  1. My grandfather told me that his uncle was digging a deep shore in his garden when his spade struck what he thought was a stone.
    He threw it up on the bank and noticed it was shining in the sun. When he was returning home in the evening he brought the stone home with him.
    He washed his hands and he washed the stone also in soap and warm water.
    A few days later he went to town and he brought the stone with him. He showed it to old Martin MacDonnell in Roscommon. Without
