  1. The landlord that was for Grange was Jack Farrell. He lived in Beachwood. If you did not pay him the rent he would evict you.
    Some of the poor tenants who were not able to pay the high rents went to America and left their houses and lands after them.
    The landlords were nearly all prodestants and they were sent over by the English Government to Ireland. Our landlord was a Mr. Croghan. He owned a thousand acres of land around here. He lived in Edward McDermotts house, and called it the Lodge. He was a hard and miserly man, who extracted the last halfpenny of rent from his tenants
