    Manys is the pretty girl,
    And manys the ladies fair.
    Gazed in jockeys face,
    That rode O Beirnes mare.
    Mac Nally now can play his cards,
    And fairly well he can.
    But let him find a five for the ace of hearts.
    On O'Beirnes Mary Ann.
    My grandmother told me this poem. It was a man by the name of James Owens of Cloonfad who made it. He is dead now.
