  1. There are a great number of fairy forths scattered here and there through the country but there is one particular forth I have heard a story about. It is in the village of Kicooly a short distance from where I live. A young man was passing by this forth at twelve O, clock at night and he heard a noise like somebody walking. He stood up and looked around and saw a Leipreacáin dancing around a bush. He crept on as silently as he could and caught the Leipreacáin and demanded the treasure. The Leipreacáin tried every plan to get away but it was no use he had to give up the treasure. The young man was delighted (wh) with his fortune and as he was about to continue on his homeward journey he saw a number of fairies coming towards him. They invited him into the castle. At first the man refused to go but the Leipreacáin advised him not to refuse them and he went in. He was taken to the dining room where a beautiful supper was prepared for him. When supper was over he felt very tired and fell into a heavy sleep and when he awoke, both treasure and castle had disappeared and he found himself sitting under a bush in the forth. He went home very disappointed and every after he regretted the lost treasure
