    sign of a break on the weather and when they do not go far from the rookery.
    Rheumatism. Old people are always complaining of Rheumatism when rain is approaching.
    Dampness. Flag Floors and concrete ones get very damp when rain is near.
    Cuckoo. The cuckoo nests in a tree without many leaves on it. It is a wonderful sign of a bad Summer to see this.
    Dust is always flying up in the air when rain is near.
    Smoke. The smoke goes straight up in the air when there is going to be the best of weather, but when it goes out every way out of the chimney it is a sure sign of the worst of weather.

    Wet and windy may
    fills the haggard
    with oats and hay
    A blow from the East,
    is not good for man or beast.
