  1. There are a few forges in the parish of Raheen but there is none in my townland. The nearest one to Raheen is the one which is situated in Colt. It belongs to Mr. Dalton and it is near a cross roads. All the people from Raheen get their work done in that forge. They get their horses shod and they also get implements made. They get some implements mended such as ploughs, drill-harrows, rollers, slanes, grubbers and he also binds wheels of carts. He binds them outside as he would not have enough of room inside. He lights a big fire in the yard or the field and he puts
