  1. Terence Kierans was a well known young man who lived in the townland of Lecklevara. It seems that he followed another man called Jack Moorehead home from Smithbore. He thought that Mr Moorehead had a few bottles of whiskey in his pockets. He and a few others stopped round about the house. When Mr Moorehead heard them there, he went out and ordered them home, but they would not go. He went into the house and brought out the gun, and he shot Terence Kierans (on the spot).
