    About two hundred years ago a number of people called Palatines were settled by the English government in Ireland. They were German Protestants who had been driven out of their country by the French. Their settlement in Ireland was not effected without opposition since Dean Swift and the Tories considered that there were Dissenters enough in the country already. However it was carried out
