    though I worked hard at the hay -
    Twice since then he sent us money, not a great lot to be sure,
    That wud one thing or another, kept the hunger from out door.
    The neighbours they were loyal, an' generous when they could;
    Wud the "lock" of straw for bedding' or the "gole" from out the wood.
    But now he's sent the "passage notes", we'll all be going away,
    An' 'tis on "The seat" of Brandon Hill I'm spendin' my last day.
    An' below there is the Barrow all shining in the sun,
    An' the ould "Green" of St. Mullins where used to be such fun.
    'Tis Mick would like to see it, an' the holy ground beyond,
    Where many's the friend lies speelin'
