  1. Long ago in the Parish of Mooncoin a man called at a farmers house for something to eat, and there was only an old woman in the house who refused him. He said "I will take more from you" so after a couple of days rats swarmed in about the place and nearly knocked down the place. Then she heard of a rat tamer, and she sent for him. He arrived with a rat in a cage, and said some words and all the rats followed him and he took them along to the bank of the river Suir.
It is not known if he drowned them or not.
