  1. There is a village near here it is called "The Leap" When Finn Mac Cool was alive he jumped from the Hill of Allen in to the village of Allen now called "The Leap". There is a walk near "The Leap" it goes through three fields, the Walk is about two and a half miles ling. It is called "St Brigids Walk" because she walk along it years and years ago.

  2. There is a ruined castle in this Parish. It is situated in a field in Kilmeague. In olden days the Geraldines used to live init. The family by the name of Haslems used to live there over 114 years ago.
