  1. There was a man there some time ago they called him Sean O Crowley. He was a great fighter and had great courage. He was not afraid of anyone. He used always bring a black thorn stick with him. For in olden times it is with the black thorn stick they used to fight. There was a lios by to the place where he lived. One night he was out very late and as he was passing the lios he heard great noise inside in the lios so he listened for a while. He took courage and went in. As he was going in a man met him. He was a friend of his so he spoke to him. He told when he would go in not to eat any food or drink that he would get, and
